Road or trail shoes?
The promenades, the Railway Walk and the Five Mile Road are all fine in road shoes. For the north coast cliff paths, trail shoes with a grippy sole make the steps and wet granite much safer.
What you actually need to run Jersey's routes, from people who run them. We don't sell anything. For kit, we point you to local partner shops who can fit you properly.

Some coast roads and green lanes have no pavement. A bright top is enough by day; from October to March add a head torch or clip-on light for early and late runs.
St Ouen’s Bay and the north coast catch every Atlantic breeze. A light windproof that packs into a pocket is the most useful layer you can own here. In summer: cap, sunglasses and sunscreen.
Short routes pass plenty of cafés. For long runs or the cliff paths, carry water in a soft flask, belt or vest, and practise with the gels or snacks you’ll use on race day.
A hands-free waist lead with a bungee section saves your shoulder. Carry a collapsible bowl and bags, and check seasonal beach restrictions before letting them onto the sand.
Use a proper running buggy with a lockable front wheel and a wrist strap. The St Aubin’s Bay promenade and the Railway Walk are the smoothest routes.
Run mode keeps your screen on, which uses battery. A running belt or armband keeps the phone steady, and a small power bank helps on long routes.
Partner shops coming soon. We're talking to local running and outdoor shops about runner discounts.

Partner shops support the club. We list them because they give runners a good deal, and we don't take commission on your purchases.
