Privacy: we store nothing
RunningJE doesn't collect, store or share any information about you. There's no database behind this website at all.
- ✅ No accounts and no sign-up.
- ✅ No cookies, and nothing saved in your browser's storage.
- ✅ No analytics, tracking pixels or advertising.
- ✅ No forms. If you email us, it goes to our inbox like any email.
- ✅ Your GPS location never leaves your phone.
Run mode and your location
When you press Start in run mode, your browser asks for permission to share your location with the page. The page uses it in memory, on your phone, to show your position and work out the distance left and the next stop. It is never sent to us or anyone else, and never written to storage. When you press Stop or close the page, it's gone. You can withdraw permission at any time in your browser settings.
Other services the site uses
Some parts of the page are loaded from other providers. Like any website, they receive the technical details a browser always sends (such as your IP address) to deliver the content:
- Cloudflare hosts the website. It processes standard request data to deliver pages and protect against attacks. We don't use Cloudflare's analytics.
- OpenFreeMap provides the map images. It sees which area of the map is being viewed, as any map service does, but not your GPS position.
- YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode) is contacted only if you press play on a runner story video.
Fonts and photos are served from our own site. Links to other websites, such as partners, are governed by their own policies.
